I thoroughly enjoyed my short getaway to “The Big Apple”. My days were packed with travel and activities. There’s no shortage of things to do in New York.
I stayed at the Hyatt in Long Island City. The hotel was cozy and the stay was pleasant. I would certainly stay here again. After checking in, I went right across the street to Tacombi – a neighborhood taqueria. The hotel staff recommended the fish tacos and I’m glad they did because they were delicious!
The ambiance made me feel like I had stepped from off the streets of Long Island City and straight into a beach side restaurant in Mexico or Miami.
Times Square was buzzing with people and big screens demanding your attention. I hopped on a double decker tour bus and saw the Manhattan sights. I saw churches, the Wall Street Bull, SoHo, Pier 46, the 9/11 Memorial and more!
The next day was for Brooklyn. After getting a bite at a local pizza shop, The Brooklyn Bridge and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden were the perfect places to take a stroll.
The final day was mostly spent in Harlem. We started on the famous 125th street and began a walking tour of the city. There is so much culture and history in Harlem!
